Photo Approved
So there’s a web site specifically for Pentax DSLR photos by Pentax: pentaxphotogallery
I’ve always loved the photos on there. I always wanted to see if my photos would be good enough to make it on there. But I always lost my nerve while surfing through the photos on there because they looked so damn good. Made me feel very inadequate about my own photos.
Eventually I decided to just give it a shot. I tried to choose a photo that a passerby would most likely stop and take a look at. I was still thinking that it wasn’t good enough because of random distractions and imperfections in the overall photo.
But…
They liked it. Enough to post my photo on their website. Woohoo! Here’s the photo in question (you may have seen it in a previous post):

Pretty cool. You can go to the website and find my name to see the photo.
I want to submit more, but I am my harshest critic. I still think this photo is probably low end compared to the rest in that gallery, so I probably won’t be flooding their submission boxes with stuff.

Memorial Day w/Indy

Saw Indy 4 late Friday night. Not sure that I can give a proper review of it. Why? I was pretty buzzed when I saw it. =) Although it’s the longest Indy movie ever, it sure didn’t feel long to me. If anything, it felt like there was less in this movie. In previous movies, Indy would be jumping from place to place on his treasure hunt. But in this one, it just seemed like Indy went to 2 or 3 places and boom, crystal skull finale.
How does it compare? I’m not sure. I enjoyed myself, but again, I was buzzed, so it’s a little bit biased. Bringing it to the Cold War was interesting, but I feel they could have gone further with that idea. It’s probably 3rd (ahead of Temple), but I’d have to rewatch them all (including 4 heh) to make a better call. I’ve already rewatched Raiders and pretty much verified it is better than Crystal Skull.
What else did I do this weekend? Well, Ikea had a sale, so I figured I’d buy something long overdue for my place…a coffee table:

Now I can prop my feet up while playing my video games. Yay.
Also watched the A’s sweep the Red Sox through my MLB.tv subscription. Go A’s!

Scenic Japan
I also went to Japan for a few days while I was across the ocean. Instead of Tokyo or Osaka or Kyoto, we instead hit Nagoya and some other nearby countryside places. It was basically a tour where we moved from one scenic spot to another with a bunch of waiting time in between. So it could get a bit slow at times. But I will admit it was pretty scenic. If I wasn’t a DSLR freak, I probably would have been bored. But since I am into that stuff, it wasn’t too bad. So here’s a bunch of photos:
