- I recently got some new toys for my DSLR: a manual 50mm f/1.2 lens and a new focusing screen. I picked up the new lens because to be blunt, it seemed pretty damn cool to own such a fast lens. With such a thin area of focus with f/1.2, I couldn't get a good focus at all so I went ahead and bought one that does split prism focusing. With that, all I have to do is make sure the vertical lines I want in focus look straight and BOOM, great focus!
